The Lewis Art Building, along with the Department of Theatre Arts, is housed within the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center at 60 Baylor Avenue. The Department of Art and Art History maintains up-to-date classrooms, including fully-wired "smart rooms", computer labs for graphic design and photography, darkrooms, and well-equipped studios for ceramics, drawing, fiber arts, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
The contemporary facility also houses the Martin Museum of Art, featuring the work of local, regional, national, and internationally known artists as well as the annual student and art faculty shows. The Museum augments instruction by showcasing the work of distinguished practitioners in all of the disciplines taught in the department. The Martin Museum of Art is also popular with visitors and tourists throughout the year.
