Advising
Art advisors serve to assist students in getting the most from their time at Baylor, while making steady progress toward timely graduation. To that end, advisors guide students in constructing an individualized, coordinated, and suitable educational program that is consistent with their abilities, interests, and values. In addition to helping students make informed decisions about their academic goals, advisors assist with integrating other educational experiences such as study abroad, internships, and research opportunities into their chosen field of study. Students are challenged to reflect on, synthesize, and articulate the value and practical implications of their education.
Incoming freshmen and transfer students receive advising and registration assistance during summer orientation.
Returning students meet with their assigned faculty advisor at least once per semester for formal advisement. All students are encouraged to contact their advisor with any questions or concerns they may have.
Advising is not required for students seeking a minor in Art History or Studio Art, though they are welcome to consult with Leah Force, Undergraduate Program Director, if they need assistance.
