Photography Professor Morgan Ford Willingham visits US museums to document works from Ancient Egypt for upcoming body of work

July 9, 2024

This summer, Photography Professor Morgan Ford Willingham is traveling to document works from Ancient Egypt in museum collections around the country including objects from the St. Louis Art Museum, Carlos Museum at Emory University, Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures (ISAC) Museum at the University of Chicago, Field Museum, MFA Boston, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Walters Museum.

Images made of these works will be the basis for a new project that begins with an examination of women in the ancient world through various depictions that record a wide range of experiences and stature within their daily lives. The project is supported by a Summer Research Award from Baylor University.
