Recent Painting Grad Ellie Cerwin Finds Success in Grad School with Funding and Exhibition Opportunities
Ellie Cerwin in her TCU Studio
Painting alum, Ellie Cerwin (’25) has just completed her first semester in the MFA Painting program at Texas Christian University. Her experimental practice this fall explored both screen printing and painting, supported by two grants that will expand her material and conceptual endeavors.
The grants were bestowed through the TCU Graduate Research fund. These awards also fund Cerwin’s upcoming research trip to Saguaro National Park focusing on artmaking in the January desert.
Cerwin’s painting Soul Acknowledgement: Saguaro will be featured at the Fishers Art Center in Fisher, Indiana’s upcoming exhibition Rewilding: Contemporary Art and the Natural World. The show…” aims to offer a range in perspectives as it comes to the natural world’s influence on contemporary art.”
Congratulations Ellie on your grant awards, exhibitions, and ongoing achievements!
