Congratulations to Baylor Art student Aleah Burns on being named one of fifty emerging professional artists in Texas!

Artists from all over the state compete to be selected for this prestigious exhibition in Dallas and this year’s exhibition had almost 600 entries.

Open to Texas artists 18 and older, Craighead Green Gallery’s New Texas Talent exhibition was established in 1993 to offer a platform to emerging artists who have not yet achieved gallery representation.

Juror Daisha Board told Glasstire, the source for Texas art news, the focus was on selecting artists with a clear point of view. “There’s a lot of urgency and intention right now with a lot of these artists’ works, where they understand the world around them and what’s going on, and they have a lot to say about that,” she said.

Aleah Burn’s painting, Unstable Connection, a 40” x 30” oil on canvas was selected for the exhibition.

New Texas Talent is on display at the Craighead Green Gallery in Dallas from June 27-Aug. 22, 2026.

Opening Reception: Saturday, June 27th, 5-8 pm

Congratulations Aleah on this incredible achievement!
