Recent Baylor Art Graduate and 4th Generation Baylor Alum, John Mark Lasater, Named Graphic Design Coordinator for the Texas Stars

Recent December '25 Graphic Design graduate and fourth-generation Baylor alum, John Mark Lasater, just accepted a full-time position as the Graphic Design Coordinator for the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas. Lasater will be responsible for overseeing and creating every graphic for the Stars.

During his time at Baylor, Lasater’s work received recognition in several national graphic design competitions, including: the Graphis’ New Talent award and GDUSA’s prestigious American Graphic Design Award and he participated in the NSSC 2024 and 2025 conferences where he noted “attending the NSSC has been essential to my success over the past two years, helping me boost my portfolio, connections, and confidence as a designer”.

He noted the Baylor Art Program and Baylor Athletics gave him the experience needed to prepare for this exciting opportunity.

The Texas Stars are a professional minor league ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars. Based in Cedar Park, Texas, near Austin, they play at the H-E-B Center and have been active since 2009, winning the Calder Cup in 2014.
