David Lammers

David Lammers is originally from Sioux Center, Iowa.  He received his MFA in Sculpture from the University of South Dakota 2024.  Lammers earned a B.S. in Engineering with a mechanical emphasis and a B.A. Fine Arts Studio (Sculpture)/Art History Degree from Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. He holds certificates in Weld Metallurgy, General Applied Metallurgy, and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy from the American Society of Metals. 

Lammers' interest in materials started at an early age watching his grandfather do woodworking and his father weld around his family’s farm.  That interest grew into a passion for blacksmithing, metal casting, and fabrication in industry. Lammers is furthered influenced by travel and visiting great art museums.
