ARTIST STATEMENT
Mack Gingles’s paintings and drawings inhabit a place where time slows and uncertainty lingers. In the Wading for You series, figures pause, wander, and endure without direction. Beckett’s line, “You must go on. I can’t go on. I’ll go on,” moves through the work as something felt rather than told, an internal pressure that persists without resolution. The images hold that pressure open, allowing doubt, persistence, and quiet resolve to exist together.
