Personal Statement

As an Artist and Illustrator, my love for color and detail offers a painterly style to my work. I owe many thanks to my mother for my artistry, as she always encouraged my brother and I to “be creative and to be ourselves.” Her creative sense came from my great grandmother, who was a muralist in the 1940’s & 50’s, in rural Pennsylvania, when it was not typical for a woman to paint portraits of her family on the dining room walls. Their creative spirit lives in me and I learn something new every day. From the beginning to the end of a project, base coat to clear coat, I am, brush in hand, driven to provide the best quality service.

My Creative Work 

I have owned and operated Painterly Designs, LLC as a contract Production Artist for more than 22 years, within the Annapolis, Maryland area, as well as Washington D.C.& Virginia. Now, having moved to Waco in 2018, I’ve extended my art endeavors into the West Central Texas area.

I specialize in custom murals, a full range of techniques in faux finishes, restoration of faux painting with color matching, as well as painting on canvas and decorative furnishings. I also provide interior and exterior color consultations and applications, and stage production paintings services. Beyond my visual work, I also explore creative writing through children’s stories.

My Baylor Work

 My journey has brought me to The Martin Museum of Art where I serve as the Museum Gallery Attendant. My job as the attendant allows me to welcome and interact with Museum guests, assisting them, introducing them to the exhibitions, and making everyone feel welcome in the space. I also assist with exhibition preparation, marketing and outreach, art education projects, and facilitating our Cultural Arts Experiences for Baylor students.
